              TRAIN-THE TRAINER

                         (TTT)

To operate a lift truck in Ontario, one must possess the knowledge, training and experience in order to become competent.  In order to be a trainer, one must have the knowledge training and experience, to be deemed competent to instruct others.

Becoming an in-house instructor is an important role.  Many people are relying upon you for direction and leadership to EARN and obtain their 'certification'.  You become the instructor, and much responsibility goes along with it.

If a competent operator is at fault for an incident, the operator can be held liable up to an amount of $25,000.00
If the in-house instructor is liable for an incident that causes injury or death to an employee or operator because his/her teachings were subpar, that in-house trainer can be held liable up to $25,000.00 as well.  The company cannot pay the fine on behalf of the trainer, and the trainer will be forced to right a cheque to the Ministry of Labour, and if they cannot, their wages will be garnished until the full amount is paid!

Many businesses are willing to roll the dice and take their chances, and not informing their prospective in-house trainers of their liabilities.  For that reason, I usually prefer not to do in-house training when I am competing with scrupolous training organizations who are merely interested in your cheque.  Simply putting individuals into a classroom session for less than a day does not entitle your staff to become competent trainers.  And if you believe it does, after your employee is finished doling out their $25,000.00, your business maybe doling out up to $500,000.00 for failure to look out for the health and safety of your employees because you chose a poor training company to provide the insignificant training to your in-house trainer.

Not only will the business be liable, but their insiurance premiums will rise, as well as their WSIB premiums, which would then have the Ministry keep close tabs on their business safety practices.

For those reasons, we are not interested in competing for your TTT business if the least expernisve and quickest is the avenue of choice.  However, if your business wants a reliable instructor to train your warehouse staff, have the abiity to prepare and present the laws and dynamics of your lift trucks, and prove to me that they are a willing particpant striving to do their best, then we are intersted in your business, and instrucing your future instructors.

And really, only if your business has 100 staff or more, operates 24/7, the turnover of staff is unprecedented, does the TTT make sense. Also, if the business is in a remote area, I can see the TTT for you.  A business with 20 employees is far better utilizing the services of a professional trainer.

If you are truly serious about the welfare of all of your staff, operators, instructors, office workers alike, as well as corporate management, you are willing to give up a full week of their time to be deemed competent wholly by a professional educator who actually cares more about worker safety than running to the bank hysterically, and you are willing to give up 3 of your employees, we will be more than willing to offer your company and staff the finest, most complete, in-depth comprehensive TTT training available in Ontario and Canada.  If so please contact us
