Constantly Lifting the Standard

PROPANE (lift trucks)

Unlike battery use, propane cylinder handling is a requirement, by law.  Understanding

the proper ways and means of removing and installing the cylinders is mandatory, and

not as simple as one might think.  There are procedures, and following these procedures

will minimize the risk of injury in the workplace.

Where required, propane training is included in the forklift course, and fee.  Not only is

the replacing of the cylinder taught, but the characteristics of propane is taught as well.

PROPANE (awareness)

An additional service Ideal Forklift Training provides is propane awareness involving

propane heaters and torches.  This extended program begins with where propane

actually is derived from, to when it was discovered, its history, characteristics, and

proper use with propane heaters.  This course is not TSSA certification.  It is an

awareness course whereby each student will be tested on their knowledge of propane.

PROPANE

The use of propane in the workplace is governed by two different entities.

The use of propane on lift trucks and torches is overseen by The Ministry

of Labour whereas the use of propane heaters in the workplace is overseen

by the TSSA.
